The Village Light Opera Group presents
Gilbert & Sullivan's
The Mikado

A Look Back at our 1987 Production!

In 1987, The Village Light Opera presented its last production of "The Mikado" which was conducted by Ronald Noll (who once again conducts this fall's production), and was directed by Nathan Hull (who plays the part of the Mikado this year). Here is a photo album of that production which is remembered as our "Kabuki Mikado'!

 Gentlemen of Japan
The Gentlemen of Japan got the show off to a fan-snapping start

Josh Huntington was and is again this fall a noble lord

Ko-Ko (Murray Nesbitt) enlists the aid of Pooh-Bah (Wilbur Lewis), with a small greasing of the palm.

Many treats greated the eye, including a troupe of professional jugglers!

The Ladies arrive, along with "Three Little Maids"

The Love Interests: Nanki-Poo (Kevin Anderson) ...

And Yum-Yum (Terry Hoover) who sings of Sun and Moon

But Katisha (Jocelyn Wilkes) threatens their peace...

...when she brings the Mikado (Jim Duffy)

The trio tries to explain things away but...

The Mikado is not so easily swayed or amused!

Nor Katisha easily placated

And the rest? That would be giving away too much of the story!
