Alexis Kurtz

Seamstress

tale alexis web.png

Alexis Kurtz is a relatively new, "New Yorker," who is very thrilled, at times confused, but always in awe of this crazy city! When she learned about the historic Village Light Opera Group, she couldn't believe her good luck in being cast in, “A Tale of Two Cities,” shortly after. Originally from Connecticut, Alexis studied acting, classical voice, and linguistics at Eastern Connecticut State University where she had the privilege of studying abroad in London to hone classical acting styles and take in the West End culture. Alexis also values her skills gained in the Goodspeed Musicals Mover’s Bootcamp, Stella Adler Immersive Musical Theatre program, and in working with original members of The Tectonic Theater Project to better understand the significance and essence of The Laramie Project along with her cast. Favorite roles include Romaine Patterson (The Laramie Project, CT), Dialect Coach (Simon Stephens’ Pornography, CT), Johanna Barker (Sweeney Todd, CT), April (Company, CT), and Annina (La Traviata, Italy). Thank you to the VLOG team for a truly joyful experience! Thank you to my family and friends for their unwavering support of my non-traditional path. Much love to Paul and Horatio. "Erase Hate."
