The Baker's Wife

Village Light Opera Group (VLOG), a historic NYC non-profit community theater group of over 80 years, is searching for a Director, Music Director, and a Stage Manager for their winter 2024 production of the musical The Baker's Wife by Stephen Schwartz and Joseph Stein. Performances will take place on November 8, 2024 - November 10th, 2024, at the Flea Theater in Tribeca.

NOTE: This show will be performed with keyboard/piano only, accompanied by the Music Director, and acoustically without microphones.

Important Dates

Form and Resume Submission: Sunday, July 14th - 11:59pm

You will be asked to upload a resume, provide any relevant links to your work, provide details about conflicts you have throughout the rehearsal/performance period, and provide us with the contact information for a reference.

Interviews: Saturday, July 20th- 2:00pm - 7:00pm, Tuesday, July 23rd - 6:00pm - 10:00pm

Candidates will receive a link to sign-up for a specific interview slot on Friday, July 19th​ if selected to proceed in the process

Callback Dates: Sunday, August 18th - 1:00pm - 8:00pm

First Date of Rehearsal: August 26th - 7:00pm - 10:00pm

Rehearsals will be held at various studios in Midtown, typically 3 times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, with occasional weekends as approved by the producer. There is some flexibility in regards to the rehearsal scheduling, depending on the schedules of the production team and of the performers.
