Dear VLOG Friends and Family!
DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!! Get ready, get set. . . . it’s SHOWTIME!! November brings us the long-awaited, much-anticipated performance of Sondheim’s “Sunday In The Park With George” staged concert and we could not be more excited for you all to see it! VLOG’s return to the concert stage features cast members young and old, old and new, tried and true. . . all just bursting with talent! BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW! Seriously. Buy them now! (Details and link below) Your board has been working diligently to make VLOG the best we can be. . . if you haven’t read VLOG’s Mission Statement it in a while (ever?), take a moment now to remind yourself why you choose to be a valuable member. Here’s an abbreviated version: VLOG exists to foster appreciation of the musical arts with modern themes and equitable representation that reflects the diversity of NYC today, and reviving lesser-known works to elevate underrepresented artists within this generation-spanning genre. Through semi-staged concerts and cabarets to full-scale operettas and musicals, we provide opportunities for members to hone performing, producing and creative skills while making high-quality amateur theatre accessible to the community, including the elderly, handicapped, and economically disadvantaged. That’s it. . . that’s what we strive to do. But to do it, we need you! If you haven’t yet this year, please PAY YOUR DUES. The pandemic hit us hard. Now, more than ever, your participation in any way you are able is appreciated. Paying dues is an excellent way to show your support. https://secure.givelively.org/donate/village-light-opera-group-ltd/2022-2023-membership-dues And at the start of this month of gratitude, we’re kicking off VLOG’s Giving Tuesday campaign. This year Giving Tuesday takes place on 11/29/22 and is described as “a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity”. Think about that. . . radical generosity! So, when you receive emails and requests for donations in the next few weeks, please keep an open heart, an open mind, and give whatever feels right for you. All gifts/donations will be very much appreciated. Thank you kindly! #GivingTuesday Have a lovely, performance-filled, and radically generous November! See you IN THE PARK!!
Warmly,
Pam Palmieri

People of VLOG, I can’t say it any better than Pam just did. It’s been a difficult almost 3 years for everyone, and what better way to celebrate life than to support your favorite theater company, than to see this exquisite and life-affirming show by one of the greatest Broadway composers the world has ever known! We have a total of 420 tickets available, and I know we can absolutely sell out. Please buy some tickets for yourselves, for you family, for your friends, heck, for some kind-looking strangers on the street.
One reason to buy your tickets early is that we have to provide a list of ticket holders to Hunter a day or two before the shows. Yes, tickets will indeed be available at the door, but think of how much easier it will be just to get your name checked off, go through the turnstile, and take the elevator up to the 4th floor!
Please note that you will have to show your COVID vaccination certificate at the door.
We are also looking for volunteers to sell tickets by the doors downstairs, as well as ushering in the theater. If you are interested, please email vlog@vlog.org
Rehearsals are going exceptionally well, and this remarkably talented cast has been having so much fun! We can’t wait to see you there!
Warmest regards,
James Higgins
